Society for Byzantine Studies at Athens
The Society for Byzantine Studies was founded at Athens in 1918. Since its foundation, the Society has been interested in the protection of Byzantine monuments, manuscripts and works of art. The main objective of the Society is the publication of its internationally recognized scientific journal under the title "Ἐπετηρὶς τῆς Ἑταιρείας Βυζαντινῶν Σπουδῶν". Its Library includes about 2.000 Books, published since 19th c., as well as 208 Greek and International scientific journals. It also houses the so-called "Μυστακίδειος Βιβλιοθήκη" (Mystakideios Library), which has 5,823 registered titles, including rare editions from the 17th century onwards, covering various fields.
