The Department of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Antiquities and Museums of the Ephorate of Antiquities of West Attica handles issues related to archaeological sites, monuments and historical sites, dating from the 4th c. A.D. until 1830, as well as in newer religious monuments from 1830 onwards. The Ephorate of Antiquities of West Attica is based in Athens and has the territorial jurisdiction of the Municipalities of Mandra - Eidyllia, Megara, Elefsina, Aspropyrgos, Chaidari, Agia Varvara, Aigaleo, Peristeri, Petroupoli, Ilion, Agioi Anargyroi - Kamatero, Acharnes, Fyli.
