Monastery of Dečani

Visoki Dečani Monastery, founded by the Serbian King - St. Stefan of Dečani in 1335 is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its church dedicated to Christ Pantocrator is the largest medieval Orthodox church in the Balkans, with a unique architectural style, combining elements of different building traditions of the time,  rich sculptural decoration, and one of the most extensive and best-preserved fresco-painted programs in medieval art.  The website contains a great number of photographs of the church's interior and exterior, as well as those of the other monastery buildings, objects kept in the treasury, digitized manuscripts,  and books on the history and art of the monastery.
