The database includes terms relating to bookbinding and to the description of the codex as a material object; it is structured in sections that correspond to the constitutive parts of the book. The terms are accompanied by brief explanations in Greek. An English translation of each term is also provided.  The database was created by the researchers of the Institute of Historical Research-Byzantine Section of the National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF) at Athens (Greece).
