The open access and ongoing database aims at canvassing for the first time on a map the extent, density and diversity of the installations of Western religious orders in the specific geographical areas from the 11^th century to 1830, year of Greek Independence, as well as collecting and presenting the basic bibliographical documentation for these installations. The database was created by the researchers of the Institute of Historical Research-Byzantine Section of the National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF) at Athens (Greece),  within the project "ANAVATHMIS", funded by the General Secretariat of Research and Technology (Greece).
