The journal Estudios Bizantinos aims to be an instrument of scholarly communication and research at the service of the international community of Byzantine Studies. Since its creation in 2013 by the Spanish Society of Byzantine Studies, it has the general objective of promoting Byzantine Studies in Spanish speaking countries. Since issue 10 (2022), and thanks to the decisive support of the Publishing House of the University of Alcalá (UAH), the journal Estudios Bizantinos is also printed. The electronic version has been incorporated into the UAH’s OJS electronic journals portal: the submission of proposals and the peer-review procedures have benefited from the latest improvements of this system in order to make the journal the reference publication of Byzantine studies in the Spanish-speaking world and to give it a relevant place in the international panorama of the discipline.
